Sodexo Dietetic Internship

I am honored to be a part of  Sodexo's Dietetic Internship, New York Campus. Through this 1200 hour accredited program, I have completed hands-on rotations in clinical nutrition, food service management, dialysis, long-term care, and community nutrition. These experiences have strengthened my clinical judgement, management skills, and teaching ability,  and are the foundation of my nutrition career. 

 

Food Service Management  // Weil, Gotshal & Manges

  • Supported the management team in food procurement, production, and service for a high-volume corporate cafeteria in Midtown Manhattan
  • Designed healthful recipes and produced a "theme meal" event 
  • Participated in a Department of Health Food Safety inspection, which resulted in an "A" grade 
  • Assisted in opening of new kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room, which included developing new systems for updating menu visuals and optimizing staff schedules
  • Analyzed sales data to measure success

Basic, Intermediate, & Advanced Clinical Nutrition  // SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Parkside Dialysis Center

  • Assessed a wide array of acute care patients for nutritional needs, including pediatric and critical care patients
  • Recommended diet and enteral nutrition  orders, monitored weight and food intake of patients, and collaborated with others on the clinical healthcare team
  • Participated in nutrition department meetings regarding new malnutrition screening procedures
  • Helped organize and implement  National Nutrition Month activities 

Leadership Concentration  // Nutshell Projects and UNDERSTORY

  • Worked with Nutshell Projects, a food and farm consultancy based in Brooklyn, New York to design a rotation to build leadership skills in the area of food justice and community engagement
  • Managed a strategic outreach plan to recruit vendors, partners, workshop leaders, and attendees for the event
  • Provided hands-on support during the two-day event, which attracted nearly 2,000 attendees and received digital press from Vogue, New York Magazine, and Brooklyn Based

Community Nutrition // Various

  • Provided nutrition education to groups in various settings, including long-term care, outpatient, and corporate work sites
